How Your Christmas Giving Supported Families Across the Causeway Coast and Glens

Now that the fairy lights have been packed away for another year, we wanted to share an update on the impact of our Christmas appeal, Compassion Can’t Wait This Christmas. Thanks to your generosity, Vineyard Compassion was able to provide practical support to individuals and families across the Causeway Coast and Glens during one of the most financially challenging times of the year.

Because of your donations, more people were able to access affordable food through our RESET Social Supermarket, receive one-to-one support from trained staff, and take meaningful steps towards greater stability. For many households, this eased pressure on already stretched budgets and even more importantly, brought reassurance that they were not facing the demands of Christmas alone.

It’s not just about food! Alongside food support, your donations are helping to fund money coaching, counselling, and wrap-around services that address the wider challenges people face, challenges like managing debt so people can rebuild confidence and plan for a better future. This combination of practical help and ongoing support is central to the work of Vineyard Compassion.

During the appeal, we shared John’s story. John, a father of two, came to the Hope Centre while struggling to make ends meet despite being in work. With support from Elsa, one of our team, and through the RESET Social Supermarket, he has been able to access affordable groceries and begin working with our money coaches and counsellors.

“Support doesn’t happen all at once. It comes in stages. Over time, I’ve watched some of the worry lift off John,” says Elsa.

Since we first met him, John has taken control of his finances and is now moving towards becoming debt free. His story is just one of many made possible through your generosity.

This is what your giving achieved: steady, practical support that helps people move forward, not just get through a crisis.

Once again, a huge thank you to everyone who supported the Compassion Can’t Wait Christmas Appeal. Your generosity continues to help us make a real difference to individuals and families across the Causeway Coast and Glens.
