The Power of Employment

Employment is a critical aspect of our lives. It provides us with financial security, a sense of purpose, and a pathway to career growth. However, unemployment and underemployment can lead to negative outcomes, including poverty, mental health issues, and social exclusion. Addressing thesechallenges requires a multifaceted approach, including education, training, and employment opportunities.

To help address these challenges, a new program has been launched by the local Causeway Coast and Glens Labour Market Partnership (LMP) to support the local labour market for people who are unemployed, underemployed, or need to upskill, and for local employers who are looking to attract talent. The program aims to create a pathway to sustainable employment by providing access to training, work experience, and employment opportunities.

For job seekers, the program offers a range of services, including career counselling, job search assistance, and training opportunities. Job seekers can also access work experience placements, giving them the opportunity to gain practical skills and experience in their chosen field. This experience can help them stand out to potential employers and increase their chances of finding sustainable employment.

The power of employment cannot be overstated as we tackle the root causes of poverty in our local community. Therefore, Vineyard Compassion are proud to host some of the upcoming training opportunities right here at The Hope Centre and to play a small part in tackling unemployment and underemployment in the local Causeway Coast and Glens.
