Local Council Shines a Spotlight on Local Food Banks

So many of the people who visit our food bank tell us that they have put off coming to ask for help because they felt embarrassed or ashamed and didn’t know how they would be received.
We want everyone who needs help to feel confident about coming to the food bank knowing that there is always an open door and a warm welcome at The Hope Centre.

Part of building that confidence is showing guests what to expect from the moment they arrive at the door till the moment they leave our site. Being familiar with the facility, the faces of our staff and volunteers and the process, all helps to make guests feel more comfortable at what can be a stressful time in their lives.

Recently, Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council produced a series of videos showcasing all the food banks in our borough who work tirelessly helping people in our community. We were delighted to be featured in one of these videos where you can see for yourself what it’s like to walk through the doors of The Hope Centre.

Our message is clear; no one should feel embarrassed or ashamed in asking for help when they face a crisis or need emergency food. We have multiple open door sessions and satellite centres to suit your needs and we look forward to welcoming you there.
